Walk-a-Thon and Missions

Cumberland's Junior Class has just completed their week in Kansas City, Missouri, learning first hand about missions. These young people have shared the gospel, built for Habitat for Humanity, and ministered to many needy people. They will come home much more grateful for their blessings and much more aware of the needs of others. Experiences such as these are made possible by the gifts and support of people like you. The total cost will exceed $6,000.

Later this term our Senior Class will travel to the island of Antigua to present dramas, puppet shows, and street services in an effort to win people to Christ. This our eighth trip outside our borders will both train our youth and minister to many in need. The cost of the Antigua trip will approach $25,000.

Cumberland is also involved in missions by sponsoring the Good Shepherd Christian Academy in Haiti. For over a year Cumberland's gifts have paid the salaries of eleven teachers at $30 per month each. We want to add six more teachers this year due to the growth of that school. We also want to help provide the funds for a new classroom building in Haiti. Thus, Cumberland turns to our best fundraiser of each term, the Walk-a-Thon.

As we seek to raise funds we know that approximately 30% of all we raise will go to our mission projects. As obedient believers we seek both to share the gospel as well as to train our youth in discipleship.
