Athletic
Program
Cumberland
is a member of the Independent Christian Schools of Georgia and
Alabama/Greater Atlanta Christian Athletic Conference. This affiliation
provides the players with excellent competition, tournament play,
and Christian fellowship. CCA's sports include basketball, golf,
volleyball, tackle football, baseball, softball, cross country,
tennis, and cheerleading.
Curriculum
Our curriculum
reflects our Christian perspective and is designed to prepare
the student for college. A Beka and Bob Jones University Press
materials serve as the core curriculum and are supplemented with
other publishers. Scripture is an integral part of all curriculum.
Discipline
CCA generally
follows the written works of Dr. James Dobson, of Focus on the
Family, in disciplining children. Loving, firm guidance gains
the respect and cooperation of students.
Faculty
The faculty
is committed to Christian living under the Lordship of Jesus
Christ. Teachers hold college degrees and must demonstrate, by
word and deed, their allegiance to the Christian lifestyle. No
member of the faculty or staff is authorized at any time to impose
his or her non-essential beliefs upon the students. Strict adherence
to the biblical basics and confinement within them is required
of the faculty and staff.
Fundraising
All CCA
families are encouraged to become actively involved in fundraising
events. We have an annual school-wide fundraiser in the fall.
Lunches
CCA offers
a lunch program for 1st-12th grades.
Students may also bring a lunch from home.

Students
CCA's
mission is to offer Christ-centered instruction that will transform
each student's heart, soul, and mind. We seek students that are
willing to grow not only intellectually, but also emotionally,
physically, morally, and spiritually. Academically, we look for
average or above average students who can succeed in a traditional
classroom environment. CCA students are diverse in terms of economic,
ethnic, and denominational backgrounds. They exhibit high academic
and personal achievement. We expect our students to conduct themselves
in a way that will bring honor to Jesus Christ, their families,
and their school.
Testing
The Stanford
Achievement Test is administered to students in grades K5 through
12. CCA administers the PLAN test to 9th graders and the PSAT
to grades 10 and 11 during the fall each year. We offer these
tests for the purpose of preparing students for the SAT and ACT.
