Athletic Director, Basketball Coach JV Boys, Soccer Boys Program Head

Jason Allen attended Surry Community College, Appalachian State University, and Johnson University. He is currently working on his Masters Degree at Liberty University in Sports Management. He played baseball and basketball in college and coached women's basketball at Johnson University. Jason Allen is the husband of lower school teacher Deanna Allen. Jason came to CCA in 2011 to re-start the soccer program.

Assistant Athletic Director, Varsity Basketball–Assistant Coach

Herman is entering his sixth year of coaching at Cumberland and his third year as the Assistant Varsity basketball coach. He enjoys sharing his life experiences with boys as they grow into young men. Herman played basketball at Furman University where he scored a career high of 23 against North Carolina. He graduated from Furman with a Bachelors of Arts degree. He also serves as the Assistant Athletic Director at CCA.

Basketball Jr. Assistant Coach–Varsity Boys, Baseball Varsity Assistant, Upper School PE Teacher

Alex Ayres attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama where he earned a bachelors Degree in Physical Education. He is a 2007 graduate of Cumberland Christian Academy. He curretly is the Upper School Health and PE teacher, an assistant coach for the Varsity and JV Boys Basketball team and an Assistant Baseball Coach.

Chris Ebert

Cross Country–Head Coach

Chris has been a competitive long distance runner since the age of 6 and has completed several marathons and half marathons. He is a graduate of Shorter University with a 4 year BSBA degree which he completed in 2009 at the age of 44. Chris and Lana Ebert have been married for over 25 years and have two children attending CCA, Anna Grace and Madison. Chris and his wife are actively involved in ministry at First Baptist Church of Mableton.

Cross Country–Assistant Coach

Keith is the pastor at Floyd Road Baptist Church and a recreational runner. He received his bachelor's degree in Bible/Pastoral Theology from Louisiana Baptist Seminary. He has been married to his wife Kim for 20 years and has two daughters who attend CCA and run on the cross country team.

Gary Oxendine is a graduate of Tennessee Temple University and the husband of our Assistant Leader Renee Oxendine. Gary has been with CCA since its founding and has been named by many students as their most influential teacher.

Cheerleading

Mary Elizabeth Voyles comes to CCA with more than fourteen years of cheering and coaching experience. After graduation from The Walker School, she continued to cheer for three years at Berry College and then began coaching soon after graduation. Mary Elizabeth’s passion is to help young ladies grow and develop into the women that Christ is calling them to be.

Alan Taylor

Basketball Program Head, Varsity Boys Basketball–Coach

Alan has coached at CCA at every level, both girls and boys. He truly found his calling when he took over the Varsity Boys after the retirement of Alan's mentor, long-time and very successful Coach Richard Skelton. His first year as head coach led to a State Championship in 2013. Alan and his wife Rochelle (a CCA graduate) have 2 children who have attended CCA since K5. They are actively involved in ministry at Smyrna First United Methodist Church.

Assistant Golf Coach

Andrew Baxter is excited to be the new assistant golf coach. He has played golf for most of his life and loves the mental aspects as well as the etiquette that it teaches young people. As a CCA alumnus, he appreciates the importance of sports in the overall education of the student. CCA has a rich history of athletic excellence and Andrew looks forward to being part of that heritage with the current students.

5th-8th Grade Girls Basketball–Head Coach

Sherry Campbell was a four year starter on a college basketball scholarship. With over 10 years of coaching experience, she was named GISA Region Coach of the Year. Sherry is our lower school principal as well as professional school counselor. She and her husband, Dr. Lee Campbell, have three children who attend CCA.

Tim Holt is a certified ACE Fitness Trainer as well as an EMT. He enjoys using athletics as a ministry to help young men develop the greatness God is offering them.
