Cumberland Christian Academy's Goals

Our Story

Cumberland Christian Academy was born in the summer of 1989 when a group of parents met, prayed, and determined that God was leading them to start their own independent Christian school. The headmaster and board members were selected, classroom space was rented in local churches, and used desks, chairs, and books were bought or borrowed wherever they could be found. Teachers were hired on faith that enough students would enroll to cover salaries.

From these humble beginnings Cumberland has become a leading Christian school in the South Cobb area. Thousands of students have passed through our school over the years, and our staff has grown to nearly 100.

Over the past 20 years our mission has remained constant—to offer Christ-centered instruction that will transform each student's heart, soul, and mind. We are unapologetically Christian. We operate on a biblical financial foundation. We provide a strong academic program taught from a Christian world view. Our desire is that our students bring glory to God by serving our Lord and others through their character, spiritual integrity, and leadership.
